Reiki Level 2 represents a profound shift in your journey as a practitioner: from working solely on your own self-healing to offering healing to others.

Reiki Level 2 or Okuden translates as the "inner” teachings because as you deepen your inner journey and unfold the mysteries of your own healing, you naturally become empowered to support others on their journey.

The value of Reiki Level 2 comes not from the attunements or “rejus” alone, but in integrating Reiki Level 2 meditation, chanting and self-healing practices into your daily life. Most Reiki courses are offered over a day or weekend to large groups, with little or no follow-up support to prepare practitioners for the newfound responsibility of working with others.

This program is designed to provide you the knowledge and support you need to integrate Reiki practices into your daily routines and become a fully confident offering sessions to other.

It includes 1:1 and group support, as well as community structures, to keep you inspired and accountable during your 21-Day Integration Period. Participation will be limited to a small group of no more than 6 people to ensure customized and personal attention for all.

Devin Karbowicz, Life Coach

“Mallory’s passion for Usui Reiki is contagious. She has a deep connection to this lineage and brought a lot of attention and care to the teaching process. The course structure provided plenty of time to ask questions and integrate the practices into our daily lives. The classes felt more like community gatherings, which was a fun and memorable way to learn.”

This course is for you if:

  • You have completed a Reiki Level 1* (or even another Reiki Level 2 course!) but had a lackluster experience that left you without a clear sense of how to apply what you learned to your daily life - you are intuitively drawn to Reiki and know in your bones that there is much more to the practice than what you’ve experienced so far!

  • You want to not just get a certification in Reiki, but to actually have the confidence, skills and on-going support you need to begin a professional Reiki practice and/or authentically integrate Reiki into your other offerings

  • You care about the philosophical and spiritual foundation of the system of Reiki - not just hands on healing techniques - because you understand that your personal spiritual connection and healing journey is deeply intertwined with your ability to support others

  • You are a coach, healer, teacher, therapist, social worker, bodyworker, or human who wants practical tools to manage your own energy and the energy of the spaces you work in so you can show up better for the people in your care

  • You want to deepen your understanding of the historical and cultural context of Reiki, because it’s important to you to engage in ethical spiritual practice grounded in lineage that honors the people and cultures who created the traditions you practice i.e., New Age-y disembodied appropriation is not your vibe

  • You are going through grief, loss, break-up or other intense life transition and want to commit to a practice and community to support you during this time

  • You desire to be part of an inclusive spiritual community and participate in regular Reiki shares and practice sessions in NYC

*Note: Reiki Level 1 is a pre-requisite. Sign up for our email newsletter to be notified about our next Reiki Level 1course (likely spring 2025).

Taylor Rose, Reiki Practitioner & Actor

“Mallory provides so much more than a class. She is so intentional about giving her students an in depth, intimate understanding of Reiki while fostering community. Her programs honor the time it takes for students to actually form a full understanding and build a relationship with the practice.

Since I began working with Mallory, my self Reiki practice has become much deeper and more fulfilling, and this has directly impacted the quality of the treatments I give my clients. I’m more embodied, confident, and most importantly, I now have a community of practitioners to learn and grow with.”

About Mallory

If you had mentioned the concept of “universal spiritual energy” before life unexpectedly thrust Reiki into my path, my cynical self would have told you “there’s no such thing”. As a practical, ambitious high achiever I didn’t have much capacity for things I found “irrational”.

Then, I fell in love with an incredible Reiki teacher at the age of 21. Thank you, life. I learned about Reiki and energy work through my own experience and could not deny its power.

Since then, Reiki has been a core tool in my journey of self-empowerment, self-healing and leadership, and an incredible complement to other practices along my personal development journey.

I received my Reiki Level 3 (Master Level) in 2017 and have been teaching Usui Reiki Ryoho since 2020. I am a serious nerd when it comes to the history and cultural context of spiritual lineages, as well as the science of the human nervous system and brain. I have received hundreds of hours of training in breathwork, meditation, and yoga, and have been teaching these practices since 2016.

Beyond my spiritual pursuits, I am a professional facilitator, entrepreneur and former Deloitte consultant. As a co-founder of Inheritance Project, I facilitate leadership development, conflict resolution and inclusion programs for some of the world’s top organizations. I also love to dance and hang out with trees!

FAQs

  • Reiki means “universal source energy” in Japanese. There are many forms of energy work and energy healing, but here Reiki refers to a specific system of philosophy and set of techniques taught by Mikao Usui in late 1800s Japan.

Contrary to popular belief, Reiki is not an “ancient” system. It draws inspiration from the spiritual inheritance of Japan, which includes Buddhism, Shintoism (indigenous shamanic traditions) and more. Drawing on this rich cultural heritage, the system of Reiki was articulated by Mikao Usui within the specific context of secular, industrializing Japanese society.

Reiki is not just a practice for healing others, useful to those only interested in pursuing work in the healing arts. In fact, Reiki is a powerful package of practices for mastering your own energy. It is a secular, practical set of tools for self-development.

Whether you are a business leader, a teacher, a care-giver or facilitator of any kind, practicing Reiki will enhance your ability to lead groups with calm and clarity, make decisions under pressure and generate positive uplifting energy that will motivate those around you.

  • Reiki means “universal source energy” in Japanese. There are many forms of energy work and energy healing with origins in cultures all around the world. Reiki is a system of philosophy and a set of techniques taught by Mikao Usui in late 1800s Japan.

  • Reiki is considered a spiritual lineage, because the knowledge and practices are transmitted from student to teacher in an unbroken chain. The Reiki Usui Ryoho lineage is closest to the original Japanese teachings, as taught by the Mikao Usui, the creator of the Reiki system. It focuses on Reiki as a personal path of spiritual and self-development.

Most Reiki teachers in the West teach Usui Shiki Ryoho, which is the name of the system of Reiki taught by Hawayo Takata in Hawaii and the US in the 1970s.

I received my Usui Reiki Ryoho Level 3 (Master Level) in the summer of 2017 and have now been teaching for about 3 years. It’s truly a gift to share this system, which has transformed me so deeply.

  • Reiki is taught by initiation, i.e., the knowledge and practices are passed on directly from teacher to student. Your Reiki initiation will involve a series of “rejus” or “energetic blessings” that activate or attune your awareness of subtle energy.

There are 3 primary stages in your Reiki journey:

Reiki Level 1 - work on self-awareness, self-healing and rebalancing your own energy

Reiki Level 2 - learn how to work with others and offer energy healing sessions hands-on in-person and across distance

Reiki Level 3 - learn how to give rejus and teach the system of Reiki

Each initiation is followed by a 21-Day Integration period where you commit to practice the techniques and meditations every day. It is also recommended that you refrain from drugs and alcohol, and eat a clean, vegetarian diet during this time.
